Second Annual Mask Art Show LA

Second Annual Mask Art Show LA

Last year’s show featured over 30 artists with an emphasis on masks and faces and lasted only one night. It was such a huge success that this year’s event has been extended to a month-long show at the venerable, historic arts center Beyond Baroque in Venice, California. Produced and curated by Dulce Stein, the show will include many of LA’s top contemporary artists.

Sculpture Maze

Sculpture Maze

In mid-February, Uno and I will be heading over to bG Gallery in Santa Monica for Sculpture Maze. Part curatorial/part installation, Om Bleicher is creating a maze within the gallery from line upon line of sculptures. Guests will be invited to walk through the maze exploring the beauty of the individual sculptures that make up the walls of the maze itself. What fun! I just hope Uno behaves himself.

LA Art Show 2016

When Mat Gleason from Coagula Curatorial asked me to show with Coop and Robbie Conal in the Littletopia Section of LA Art Show, I knew this was going to be a great year. This show features 200,000 square feet of modern and contemporary art from 22 countries and attracts art enthusiasts from all over the world. Billed as the launching pad for what’s now and next in art, LA Art Show has propelled many artists into the spotlight over the last 20 years. I hope to see you there!

The Art of Fred Tieken – The Uno Show

The Art of Fred Tieken – The Uno Show

I am very pleased to announce my first solo exhibition in Los Angeles beginning November 21 at The Neutra Institute Museum of Silver Lake. Curated by Dulce Stein, the show will feature my No to GMO installation along with my body of paintings featuring Uno the genetically modified bird and his friends. As the poster child for what can go wrong in a GMO lab, Uno has become an Internet icon. Many thanks to Dion Neutra and Roy Rogers Oldenkamp for inviting me to show in this beautiful space.

Opening Hosted Reception is Saturday, November 21 from 6pm to 10pm. The show runs through December 19 with a Closing Hosted Reception, also from 6pm to 10pm.

Spectrum Gestalt @ bG Gallery

I’ve been invited to participate in this incredibly innovative show at bG Gallery within Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station Arts Center, one of the largest one-stop destinations for contemporary art in the United States. bG Gallery specializes in artists who have blurred boundaries between traditionally divided art approaches in their work with a particular emphasis on bridging inside and outside, and highbrow and lowbrow. Part curatorial and part installation, Spectrum-Gestalt brings together artists’ works from a wide variety of genres and mediums, grouping them into an expansive spectrum of color.

Opening Reception is Saturday, August 8 from 6pm to 9pm. The show runs through Sunday, August 16.
